In using the Yes Phonics program I would have to say, my biggest fear was that the curriculum would not be user friendly and easy to understand. In using it I discovered that it is indeed both and in fact the principles are so simple it is easy to over complicate it. In regards to recommending it to a friend I would have to say that it is a great program, the repetition is a great way to learn and not to be afraid to get creative with it.

I used your program to teach my daughter to read when she was in first grade. She’s now in sixth grade and came in second place in our school wide spelling bee. The winner was an 8th grader! She loves reading and spelling and I attribute much of her success to this program. I’m now getting ready to use it this summer with my first grade son.

We have so enjoyed your flashcards! My three-year-old twins love to see the pictures on the opposite side of the cards, and they stay engaged much longer than they otherwise could. They often notice the phonograms they’ve learned from the flash cards, and love to tell me what sounds they find in signs and books. We have made phonogram picture books by folding over the coloring pages (my seven-year-old loves to color them in), and bind them with brads or staples. My one-year-old love the “ou” phonogram best of all. Even if he is busy with something else when we come to the flash card or page in our book, he will get a big smile and run over, and then we ham it up. We all giggle, and he loves it.
